Aurelius Euporos, eutheniarches, member of the council, kosmetes, and hypomnematographos in the most illustrious city of Alexandria, plus exegetes and council member of the illustrious and most illustrious city of Oxyrhynchos, president of the council, greets his dear Gaius Julius Theon, three times champion in the Capitoline Games and most revered high priest of the local association of athletes, and Elis, leader of the association of athletes.As it has become known to us that it is both in keeping with the law and appropriate to the games that those who are former champions should all be present at the Games, we asked by letter others, but also you to take great care (that they are present).
