Marcus Petronius Mamertinus, prefect of Egypt, declares: Taking every care for/to ... having been appointed to a public service (liturgy) ... being given ... to meet (the strategoi?) ... during my session (conventus) I got to know that some persons who had been elected for public service (liturgy), had fled. [I therefore order] that ... not to flee or leave their tasks, roaming the country in happiness (?); those who have duties to be released (?) from them and others to be appointed who have means and are fit for the job.
